These days we don't necessarily need to use tower scaffolds, cherry picker type aerial platform machines, steps or ladders to reach your guttering. We frequently use our Health and Safety preferred system that can reach up to 50 feet high or 4 storeys in height. Our system involves the use of a series of lightweight aerospace aluminium or carbon poles which are connected to an extremely powerful 3 motor industrial vacuum cleaner which is normally powered by our customers electricity or by our own generator . This allows us to clean out gutters in buildings of up to four stories high without having to leave the ground.
This industrial gutter cleaning equipment allows us to easily access difficult areas such as over extensions, garages, porches out houses without treading on your garden borders and damaging your prize plants and flowers.
Our ultra lightweight gutter cleaning pole system result in minimal mess, as almost all of the soils, silts, grass, debris and moss etc end up in our industrial wet vacuum cleaner and not normally on the ground (any residue is hoovered up before we finish).
The pole can also fitted with a remote camera that can photograph or video the area being cleaned. Before and after photos can be arrange at your request
That said we still do a lot of
gutter cleaning in Ayrshire
by ladder and manual traditional methods e.g. bucket and trowel. When we use the more conventional cleaning methods, we still like to keep safety at the forefront by using a commercial quality ladder stabiliser and a ladder ground support stay.
We will always give you a fixed price to do the necessary work and the price won't go up no matter how long it takes to complete the work. The exterior part of the gutter, PVC facia and soffits can also be cleaned if required.
Sometimes a buildings' gutter down-pipes will get blocked. This can be caused in the autumn by falling leaves or by birds loosening the moss and silt which can allow the debris to travel along the guttering and into the rain water drainage pipes and then down into the drainage system underground. We can clean out blocked down-pipes and clear out any blockages in any part of the rain water drainage system.
This sometimes involves temporarily removing sections of the down-pipes to make the unblocking process easier.
Normally we will use a combination of drain rods, wet/dry vacuum cleaner with special attachments and by high power jet washing too.
We can also fit the tops of your down-pipes with a little device that will reduce the chances of future blockages. if required we can install a full gutter hedgehog system or a gutter mesh protection system which will catch leaves and debris before they enter your guttering.
Gutter and Down-Pipe Replacement Service
We also supply and fit new high flow capacity PVC gutters and down-pipes (white, grey, black or brown) or we can replace old cast iron gutters and down-pipes. Leaking gutter seals can be replaced using new rubber gaskets and sealants.
PVC Roofline Replacement and Installation
Traditional roofline is often constructed of wood which requires regular maintenance such as painting and will eventually rot. Aable Exterior Cleaning Services can replace soffits, facia and bargeboards with beautiful ultra low maintenance PVC which doesn't ever rot or need painted, just the very occasional clean.

What is the purpose of guttering and down pipes?
Ultimately, to protect a building from rain water ingress which over time will damage the buildings fabric. The blocked and overflowing gutters can allow water to seep into the roof space and into masonry. Older slate roofed buildings may have deteriorated felt (a secondary protection under the slates). This problem can usually be fixed by installing eaves guards. Eaves guards direct rain water into the gutter system, helping to keep water out of your home.
