Normally astrograss will require a Shockpad type underlay if the grass is to be fitted over timber decking or decking,. If the astroturf is to be fitted over earth or an existing real grass lawn then an entirely different fitting procedure is required.

Please note that artificial grass cannot just be laid over earth or grass or it will very likely end up a disaster. The ground instead needs to be dug out and the excavation needs to be compacted and weed treated. The ground also has to be built up with a crushed stone and dust aggregate which is thoroughly compacted to give a stable, well drained substructure for the grass to be fitted to. The new artificial grass also has to be fixed down securely to it's perimeter structure and intermittently throughout the area.
